Rosti With A Twist: A Singaporean Take On Swiss Food

Rosti is a national Swiss dish that is typically served with sour cream alongside other dishes such as Spinat und Spiegelei, Cervelas or Fleischkäse. Traditionally, they are made with shredded potato patties which are then fried. However, Rosti With A Twist is slightly different because it contains a mixture of potatoes and sweet potatoes which are pan-fried. I have also added some local Singapore spices to add more flavour to it.

Many might think that potatoes are not good for us. Fortunately, that’s untrue. Both potatoes and sweet potatoes are amazing in their own ways. Potatoes are high potassium, in fact, they contain more potassium than a banana. It is also a good source of vitamin C and vitamin B6. While sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A and are also a good source of potassium too. The most important thing to remember is its serving portion size. Just like rice and noodles, potatoes too are a type of carbohydrate. 2 egg size of either potatoes or sweet potatoes is a serve.
